Your data stays with you. Here’s exactly what that means.
Science of Light has no sign-up and no server that stores your information. Everything needed to draw your chart runs in your own browser.
The date, time, and place you enter are used in your browser to calculate your chart. They’re saved in your browser’s local storage so your chart is still there when you come back, and they’re encoded into the shareable link you can choose to copy. They are never sent to a server we run.
When you type a city, that text is sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to look up coordinates and time zone. We send only what you type — no identity attached. Their use of that request is governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation policy.
If you choose to join our email list, the address you type is sent directly from your browser to our email provider — that one field and nothing else. Your birth details never ride along, and signing up is never required to use anything on the site. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list entirely.
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights) to see aggregate page views and performance. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal profiles.
Use “Edit” to change your chart, or clear your browser’s site data for this site to remove everything stored locally. There’s nothing on our end to delete.
