Science of Light is a free, professional-grade Vedic (sidereal) astrology calculator and reader. It computes a person's birth chart from date, time, and place of birth — planetary positions validated against the Swiss Ephemeris (±0.3′), Lahiri ayanamsa, historical time-zone resolution — and then reads it back in plain language at three depths: the **Soul Book** (no astrology vocabulary at all: who you are, the season you're in, how to live it), **Novice** (plain English with the Sanskrit one tap away), and **Pro** (the full classical toolkit with citations to the source texts).

## Accuracy and conventions

- Positions: Swiss Ephemeris parity (±0.3′ planets, ±0.2′ ascendant); sidereal zodiac; Lahiri ayanamsa (Raman and KP available).
- Houses: whole-sign for the main chart; Placidus cusps for the KP (Krishnamurti) layer, validated against Swiss Ephemeris to <1′.
- Timing: Vimshottari dasha from the Moon's nakshatra; tara bala from the birth star; Moon nakshatra transitions computed to the minute and narrated (no silent mid-day flips).
- Voice: a lens, not a verdict — the app says what a period favours, never what will happen; no medical, legal, or financial directives.
