“The Listener” · 10°–23°20′ Capricorn
Shravana sits in the heart of Capricorn, from 10° to 23°20′. Its name means "hearing" or "listening," and its symbol is an ear — or the three footprints with which measured the universe. This is the nakshatra of deep listening: wisdom gathered through attention, and the connections forged by truly hearing others.
Its deity is , the great preserver who maintains cosmic order and links all things together. Vishnu gives Shravana its role as connector, learner, and keeper of knowledge — a gift for absorbing wisdom, transmitting it faithfully, and weaving people and ideas into harmony.
The planetary ruler is the Moon, which lends receptivity, sensitivity, and a retentive, impressionable mind. Shravana belongs to the Deva (divine) , making it gentle, devout, and benevolent — a scholarly, soft-spoken presence with a love of learning and tradition.
Shravana people are often good listeners, knowledgeable, and well-connected, drawn to teaching, counseling, scholarship, and the arts of communication. Their gift is attentiveness and wisdom; their growth edge is discernment — guarding against gossip or over-absorbing others’ moods, and speaking their own truth as well as hearing.
If your Moon is here, you learn and connect by listening deeply — honor that gift, choose carefully what you take in, and let the wisdom you gather flow back out to help others.
